</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">I broke them down into five categories: intent, technical, business, integrated usage, and off-twitter. Some could probably fit in more than one category, such as it were.<span id="more-362"></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">A good friend of mine, Chris Brogan shared these with me. So read through them and leave me your thoughts and comments below as I have found these very good tips when using my twitter account.</span></span></p>
<h3><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: large;">Intent (Human Artist)</span></span></h3>
<ol>
<li> <span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Don’t read EVERY tweet. It’s perfectly okay. You have permission. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Follow anyone who follows you (and unfollow spammers/jerks). </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Promote other people 12x to every 1 self-promotional tweet. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Build lists to watch people who matter to you more closely. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Retweet the good stuff from others. Sharing is caring. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> A lot of @replies <a href="http://ok4f.com/life-of-chinese-children/">how buy viagra</a>  shows a lot of humanity/engagement. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Robot tweets are less sexy than human tweets. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Promote the new/less followed more than the “names.” </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Set an egg timer. Twitter is addictive. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Everyone does it their own way. You’re doing it wrong, too- to someone </span></span></li>
</ol>
<h3><span style="font-size: large;">Technical</span></h3>
<ol>
<li> <span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">A non-standard background and face avatar means we believe you may be human. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Leave 20 characters or more space in each tweet to improve retweeting. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Use <span style="color: #0000ff;"><a href="http://oneforty.com/askseesmic" target="_blank">Seesmic</a></span> or <a href="http://oneforty.com/item/tweetdeck" target="_blank">Tweetdeck</a> or <a href="http://oneforty.com/item/hootsuite" target="_blank">Hootsuite</a> so you can see more. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Linking one update to several communities is technically possible. It’s just not respectful of each community’s uniqueness. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Tools like <a href="http://oneforty.com/item/bit-ly" target="_blank">http://bit.ly</a> let you see stats. Use them. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Make hashtags small and simple. We need room to tweet. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> If software allows you to “post updates to Twitter” as well as to the app, don’t do that. We rarely want to see them. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> If you develop software that pushes updates to Twitter, be VERY explicit how that works. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Every time you use OAUTH to give apps permission to use your account, you open a potential security hole. Check your permissions monthly. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> The best mobile app is the one that you feel comfortable using. We don’t know better. </span></span></li>
</ol>
<h3><span style="font-size: large;">Business</span></h3>
<ol>
<li> <span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Spamming us repeatedly is okay. We just unfollow you. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Spend more time in search than in chatting us up about your stuff. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Finding people who need what you’re selling trumps advertising to us. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Retweeting someone’s nice words about you is lame and doesn’t buy you more attention. Let it stand. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> If your link is an affiliate link or a client, say so (in parentheses). </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Your customers might not be on Twitter. Use <a href="http://www.rapleaf.com/" target="_blank">rapleaf</a> to find them. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Invite your customers to Twitter, then make it worth it for them. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Use Twitter as a personalized communication tool, not another blast. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Having different accounts for everything <em>seems</em> like the right move, until you realize it’s hard to grow multiple followings. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Just make money and then the boss won’t ask about ROI any more. </span></span></li>
</ol>
<h3><span style="font-size: large;">Integrated Usage</span></h3>
<ol>
<li> <span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Twitter makes every event better. Post the hashtag everywhere. Make every speaker sign/label/name include a Twitter ID. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Apps like TweetChat.com make following event chats really easy. Put in a hashtag and go. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Tweeting the content of events is nice, but so is occasionally making a real live connection with the speaker. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> It’s okay to tweet your blog posts, but try asking a question that leads readers into the post. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Can you invite Twitter followers to your other social platforms, like <a href="http://www.linkedin.com/" target="_blank">LinkedIn</a> or <a href="http://www.facebook.com/" target="_blank">Facebook</a>? Sure you can. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> I’m not into mixing my location apps with my tweets, but if you do, do it FROM the location app into Twitter, not the other way around. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Getting others to tweet your posts or news or registrations is useful, but sometimes comes off as a barrage or spam. Be prepared for that perception. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Tweets that point us to photos and/or video and/or music, etc, are always a great way to enhance the experience. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Please remove Twitter from LinkedIn. Use the #in tag instead and be selective. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Spammy or no, events that tweet their attendance registration seem to drive attendance. </span></span></li>
</ol>
<h3><span style="font-size: large;">Off-Twitter</span></h3>
<ol>
<li> <span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Are your tweets really what you want to show in your sidebar? Doesn’t that direct people <em>away</em> from your site? </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Think of Twitter as a guidance system to what you think is interesting. A lot of that is likely off-Twitter. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Apps like VisibleTweets.com are neat, but can be very distracting at events. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> If you use tweets on a screen at an event, be warned if you moderate. Angry crowds can happen. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Don’t forget to invite people from off-Twitter to follow you on Twitter. Include your actual Twitter ID (I see lots of “follow me on Twitter” with no details). </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Asking questions on Twitter makes for very interesting commentary and opinions for blog posts. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Tweetups are awesome, especially if you make them about more than just drinking and saying hi. (Though, hey, drinks can be nice.) </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Outside of the Twitter app, keep “Tw” names to a minimum. We’re not your “tweeps.” </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> If your only marketing efforts are on Twitter, start building an email marketing list. Never put your eggs in one basket. </span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> Start thinking in 120 characters (remember? save 20). Every bit of this advice is tweetable. </span></span></li>
</ol>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Your mileage may vary. Some of these might be really helpful and others might not be that useful at all, given your own situations. In fact, feel free to make your own version, add and subtract at will, and comment on where you disagree or agree. It’s all up for discussion. Besides, your doing it wrong LOL</span><a href="http://www.chrisbrogan.com/youre-doing-it-wrong/" target="_blank"><br />
</a></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Hope you enjoyed these</span></span><span style="font-size: medium; color: #000000;">, I will be speaking with you soon</span>. <span style="font-size: medium; color: #000000;">Great day to you!</span> <!--<br />

For many years, marketers stalked their target customers through various means and by trying to get their message across to spread awareness about their wares.<span id="more-242"></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Traditional Means of Communication</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Traditionally, marketing communications were conducted via print, broadcast and such traditional media through disruptive advertising, where advertisements appear in between the content of interest for the customer.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Traditional media does give a large reach to a marketer with its programming of mass appeal. However, the wastage is equally high, since a large portion of the audience would belong to a different segment than the one that is to be targeted by the marketer.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Enter Social Media and the Internet</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">The revolution stirred by the internet as a medium took place because of the fact that it is highly personalized and provides more content on-demand than any other available medium. Social sites proliferated far and wide in their usage for a few simple reasons:</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">The power to create and distribute content is equally available to every <a href="http://ok4f.com/looking-best-ever-world-cup-fans/">hoodia 750 mg</a> user, irrespective of him/her being a customer or a marketer. In the earlier forms of media, that power rested with the editorial staff of the channel or the advertiser, but hardly ever with the user.<br />
The medium is completely personalized, and a user can create or join groups and further create content based on what he/she likes.<br />
Opinions are free and fair. This is one reason why social media is of utmost concern to marketers, since buying decisions are no more influenced as much by advertisements. The traditional word-of-mouth marketing approach has grown leaps and bounds on social networks.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Facebook – At the Center of Social Media</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">With 500 million (and growing) unique users worldwide, Facebook is the number one social networking site in terms of activity and subscriptions. What started as a garage initiative by Mark Zuckerberg has now become the biggest phenomenon on the internet.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">A user interface that allows for quick communication and the ability to create fan pages and groups at the click of a mouse button are what make Facebook extremely popular. Another important reason for its immense popularity is the wide variety of social applications that have been developed and made available within the Facebook environment.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">These applications can allow users and friends to do joint activities like playing games that run endlessly, sharing photos, videos, and web links, and many more.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">How does this help a marketer?</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Traditionally, media plans were drawn to include television channels, publications, or any other media that can grab maximum eyeballs and effectively reach a selected target audience. The science of segmentation and targeting has become only more accurate in the case of social media.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Facebook provides a wide variety of avenues to communicate with the audience, which opens up an entirely different world of possibilities to have a fruitful dialogue with customers. Some of these methods used popularly by marketers are:</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Advertising: The first opportunity, which is the most obvious one, is advertising on Facebook. The difference, however, is the fact that you can create your own advertisement in a matter of minutes and also specify the details of your target group in terms of demographics and types of discussions where you want your advertisement to appear.<br />
Fan Pages: Facebook allows every brand, as well as individual users, to create fan pages for their favorite celebrities and their own homegrown businesses. Large brands have also created their official pages on Facebook that have a huge, immediate fan following around the world. The fan page has immense utility to convey first hand information about the brand and also to collect immediate and frank feedback from your customers.<br />
Branded applications: One of the most effective ways to engage a user toward your brand is by creating an application; this could be a game or a contest, with your branding coming across subtly through it.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">What makes Facebook even more exciting is the way it allows you to target your communication sharply just to the customer segment you want to attract. It also provides analytics and page insights that give good feedback and measurement on the activity done.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">The options provided by Facebook can be creatively explored and used judiciously for bringing about maximum benefits to any brand.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">However, while doing all this, you need to be aware of the fact that customers have an equal say and have the ability to respond immediately to any of your actions with a thumbs up or a thumbs down. Availing the service of a social media consultant to work out a social media strategy may be required so that your efforts will not be in vain.</span></span></p>

I wish I could remember where I first heard about this, but it does seem to be working.<span id="more-132"></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Here&#8217;s how.</span></span></p>
<ol>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Get the Twitter application installed in your Facebook profile here: <a href="http://www.facebook.com/r.php?referrer=112&amp;app_id=2231777543" target="_blank">Twitter App For Facebook.</a></span></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">You&#8217;ll notice a link that says: <a href="http://www.facebook.com/authorize.php?api_key=7cc3dc042ec019b913300d1e7559aad9&amp;v=1.0&amp;ext_perm=status_update&amp;next=http%3A%2F%2Fapps.facebook.com%2Ftwitter%2F&amp;next_cancel=http%3A%2F%2Fapps.facebook.com%2Ftwitter%2F">Want Twitter to update your Facebook status? Click here!</a></span></span></li>
</ol>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">That&#8217;s it.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">There may be some time lag, but it seems to be working fine for me. My understanding is that those who really pump the messages out in Twitter may have some of them get lost. I seem to recall reading somewhere that Facebook only checks your Twitter every thirty minutes (or so). I&#8217;m not twittering that much to have this issue, so I&#8217;m quite happy with this new additional functionality.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: medium;">I hope  this helps in saving you a bit of time with your social networking updates. Leave me a comment below, would love to hear if this really benefits you&#8230;</span></span> <!--<br />
